“…we really need as a society to open up that discussion about, it’s okay, it’s okay to ask for help … it’s not a sign of weakness, actually it’s quite the opposite…" - Alex Corgier
In this episode we speak with Alex Corgier, Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Lead at the charity Home Start.
1. Communication as a component of effective relationships with colleagues
We communicate every day with those around us, but how often do we consider how our emotions get the better of us. Having open, and honest relationships with our colleagues seems like the right thing to do in order to ensure efficient collaboration. Throw in kindness and emotional sensitivity, and this may be the recipe for a productive and enjoyable collaboration for all.
2. Taking time to breath to reduce stress
We live in a time of go, go, go, and both in our personal lives and work lives this can be very stressful. The line between these two lives has also been blurred for many of us and while we don’t all necessarily subscribe to the view that we should keep these two lives separate, it makes sense to find time in a day that focusses on finding a slow calm, if only for 30 minutes or so.
